Ministry of Higher Education has set up a task force with the objective of preparing a roadmap for identification and assessment of the future talent requirements, designing innovative curricula for the students and faculty in line with the future requirements, rollout innovative programs in selected higher education institutes (HEIs), recommend interventions to scale up such program, and foster innovation in the sector across the higher education ecosystem.

With reference to the above, a national task force was created on the Energy Sector with a mandate to identify sectoral trends and future work/skill requirements, create a roadmap for addressing capacity-building-related challenges, create reference model curricula, and provide advisory support to other academic institutions in the country.

IIT Delhi established an internal faculty expert committee and secretariat at the Institute to support the National Task Force.

The National Task Force, along with its internal committee, has been actively developing a comprehensive framework for energy education. The work involves identifying current educational program gaps, assessing future skill requirements within the energy sector, and creating guidelines for educational programs at different levels, upskilling, and reskilling.
